I started to practice yoga about 11 years ago as a way of alleviating my then lower back problems, the result of an office based job and resulting poor posture. I started by attending one class a week and then I quickly found myself eager to attend more classes as I could feel the very positive changes in my body, improved posture and a calming effect which helped me with the difficulties thrown up by occasional anxiety. With a growing sense of awareness I also started to develop my own home practice. The more that I experienced yoga the more I felt a desire to deepen my knowledge and understanding of a practice that has roots that are at least 5,000 years old.
I am a British Wheel Of Yoga trained and qualified teacher, teaching in the Hatha style. I teach for existing yogis, and completely new ones. I believe in a safe, functional and sustainable yoga practice using modifications and props giving options for everyone. I am not super bendy or super strong, just an average person who enjoys a practice that has brought a lot of enrichment to their life. It is my pleasure to now be able to share with you as a teacher the many positive benefits of a regular yoga practice.
If you are an existing yogi, or have thought about but never tried yoga then it would be a pleasure to see you in class. Each week there is a new aspect to our practice. We do not simply move our bodies, we create the environment whereby we can experience them, and in the process become more aware of them.
